Win a Bachelors Degree Scholarship in The New School Competition

The new school scholarship competitionThe New School was founded over a hundred years ago in New York City by a group of American intellectuals. The main purpose was to build a new type of academic institution where the students and faculty could address the society problems honestly and freely and without the interference of any other organization or group. The name was later changed to “The New School for Social Research” which was again reverted back to its original name afterwards. The graduate school grew rapidly over time and it evolved into a University with 7 colleges under it. Here are the complete names of the seven colleges:

  • Parsons The New School for Design
  • Mannes College The New School for Music
  • The New School for Public Engagement
  • The New School for Social Research
  • Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts
  • The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music
  • The New School for Drama

About the Competition:

The New School has recently offered a great opportunity for students from all over the world to participate in the competition and win a Fully-paid or Partial-paid Bachelor’s degree scholarship in the NY campus. So here’s the whole process for applying for the competition step-by-step:

  1. First you have to register your account on the website. In order to do that you have to fill the form available HERE.
  2. Once you have created your account, you will be asked to enter into a quiz which will test your knowledge about The New School, their degree programs and their history. It is best to go through their website’s About section before taking the quiz. Here’s the link for the About section.
  3. In the next step you will be asked to participate in the Global citizenship quiz. That quiz is going to be about the global current affairs and different global events that are happening in the world daily. The main aim is to test your knowledge of current affairs and to know if you keep yourself updated or not. It would be a great idea to read the latest news papers and read the news on websites like the World Affairs Journal.
  4. Once you have passed the test, you will be entered into another quiz which will test your knowledge on the School campus that you are interested in going into. It’s better to read about the 7 schools listed above in the About section of the website before taking the quiz. The link is given in step 2.
  5. If you have passed all the tests, you will be asked to make a video about your story and why do you want to join The New School. The video should not be very long and should include all the main highlights of your academic life.
  6. Share your video with your friends and class mates and ask them to share positive comments and recommendations about you. The more recommendations you get the more chances you have to win the competition.
  7. Once you have been selected for the scholarship, you will have to apply to your chosen Degree by February 1st, 2015. For further details visit the website.
  8. After the final admission, you will start your Bachelor’s degree at the New York campus.

About the Prizes

There are a total of 10 scholarships. 5 of them are fully-paid and other are partial-paid. There are no prize alternatives being offered. If you have been awarded a scholarship, the only way to redeem it is to join the University as a student. The scholarship prize has a maximum value of $160,000 which will cover your fees, accommodation and stipend.

If you are not completing your High school before the deadline then you can still participate to win additional prize which includes Apple Ipad Mini.
